From Thursday to Friday, 1,715 new Corona infections were registered in Austria.
There are also five new deaths related to Covid-19 infection to report, bringing the pandemic death toll in Austria to 10,790 so far. The number of active cases increases by 450 to 17,187. The seven-day incidence is 118.97.
There are currently 554 people in Austria’s hospitals related to covid disease, up eleven from the previous day. 153 patients are in intensive care – four more than the day before.

Vaccinations
14,288 vaccinations were given Friday. In total, 5,531,241 people have received at least a partial vaccination, or 61.9 percent of the population, according to E-vaccination data. 5,233,654, or 58.6 percent of Austria’s population, are fully immunized.
An increase in the vaccination coverage rate is necessary “if we want to get through the fall and winter without closures,” Health Minister Wolfgang Mückstein (Greens) said in a statement on Saturday. The general practitioner began a “vaccination tour” on Friday in communities with low vaccination rates. The starting point was Kittsee in Burgenland, where just under 43 percent of the population is currently fully immunized. 49 people willing to be vaccinated showed up to be personally vaccinated by the health minister.
